The MSA Advantage 3100 OptimAir Mask-Mounted PAPR combines a full facepiece with powered air-purifying respiratory protection for demanding industrial applications. This large-size configuration features a black Hycar rubber facepiece with a rubber harness for a secure fit, while the lightweight facepiece-mounted blower delivers a continuous supply of filtered air.

The system uses a rechargeable NiMH battery that provides up to eight hours of continuous operation. A dual-rate smart charger can fully recharge a discharged battery in less than three hours, while the NiMH design avoids the memory effect associated with NiCad batteries. A water-resistant HEPA filter and Type HE Optifilter cartridges provide particulate filtration, making the system suitable for confined spaces and applications such as asbestos, nuclear, and lead abatement.
